In this two day workshop we will discuss the fundamentals of painting including composition, value, edges, colour, and the benefits and drawbacks of using photos. Jerry will offer group and one-on-on instruction as well as a painting demonstration and valuable insight into what he has learned over the years.
Please bring your painting supplies including a few small painting panels or canvases (about 9×12", 10×12", 11×14" size) and a few photos of images you would like to paint.
Jerry's instruction will focus on landscape painting. He paints in oils but the principals he teaches apply to any medium.

In this one and a half day workshop Suzanne will take you through several drawing exercises designed to help you develop your ability to perceive and to render your observations more accurately. Working from life, we will work with line quality, values, negative shapes, foreshortening, pattern and hatching, using both pencil and pen. Learning to draw is a joyful practice that requires few materials and the progress you can make in a short time may inspire you to make drawing a daily practice.
April 10th: Drawing with Loreena Lee (2 to 3 hours)
Concentration will be on space, shape, relationships and value contrasts. There will be a short intro into what to look for, field work, then critique and problem solving.
March 13th: Photographing your Art with Michael King
Learn the basics of using your digital camera to document your work for personal use or for online submissions.
