Audrey Bakewell’s painting Relentless has been accepted into the Scenes From Western Canada Juried Show Sep 12-24 at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island.  Audrey is part of the Peninsula Art Tour on the weekend of Sep 16-17, the hours are 10am-4.  The tour map is available on the website  On Sep 30-Oct 1 Audrey is participating in Art in the City and will be at the Turnbull Gallery in the South Surrey Recreation and Art Centre.

Lee Caufield’s mixed media painting “Arrival” (30 x 30”) won third place in the South Delta Art Guild’s Oil & Water 2017 show. The popular show had over 300 entries and runs from June 1 – 25th, Tuesday through Sunday, at the Guild’s gallery in Tsawwassen.

Gabrielle Strauss’s painting ‘Soul Patterns I’ was accepted into the Local Abstractions show, White Rock. Opening reception June 8th, 7pm, Turnbull Gallery, South Surrey Rec. Centre.

Gabrielle Strauss is also part of the Art at the Blue Cottage, named after a painting she did of the cottage (which is not blue… ). The event takes place June 24th and June 25th, 1046 Stevens, White Rock, 10-4. Gabrielle will be on site on June 25th.

Deborah Strong’s coloured pencil drawings recently received awards in two exhibitions: an Award of Excellence for “Golden Pond” in the Just Water exhibition at the Newton Cultural Centre, and 3rd Prize for “Butterflies and Goosebumps” in the FCA’s 2017 postcard competition.

Deborah Strong is having a solo exhibition at the Mayne Island Library June 9July 5. “Fur, Feathers, Hooves and Paws” will feature a selection of her coloured pencil drawings and silk paintings of animals and birds.

Linda Morris has donated a painting to be auctioned off at the “Music for Mental Health” benefit concert to be held Sat. Patrica Peters and Bev Biddulph, FVFCA members, along with fellow artist, Cathy Stewart, have a group show in the Courthouse Art Gallery in Merritt from May 6 to June 3.  The show, entitled, “The Poetic Language of Landscape”, was well received by the local arts community.

Audrey Bakewell is honored to achieve AFCA status with the Federation of Canadian Artists. The icing on the cake was selling one of her pictures at the opening reception.

Gabrielle Strauss had her painting “PS: I LOVE YOU” accepted into the BLOOM!2017 show at the Federation.
