Victor Gligor’s painting “Midday on the Fraser River” has been accepted in the ‘Landscapes’ Show, Federation Gallery, Granville Island

Wendy Mould, AFCA invites you to Art on the Farm, June 11, 114pm, Kilby Historical Site, Harrison Mills. Join us for an Awesome ART Filled Day  sketch on the farm, join in hands-on drawing and painting sessions, see the sights.  My Hands-on Drawing Sessions will be at 12 & 2pm.  We will be drawing one of my flower favourites, Blackeyed Susies.  Have coffee and fresh pie afterwards at the cafe.  My personal favourite.  No registration, cost: site fee only.

Deborah Strong’s coloured pencil drawings recently received awards in two exhibitions: an Award of Excellence for “Golden Pond” in the Just Water exhibition at the Newton Cultural Centre, and 3rd Prize for “Butterflies and Goosebumps” in the FCA’s 2017 postcard competition.

Deborah Strong is having a solo exhibition at the Mayne Island Library June 9July 5. “Fur, Feathers, Hooves and Paws” will feature a selection of her coloured pencil drawings and silk paintings of animals and birds.

Linda Morris has donated a painting to be auctioned off at the “Music for Mental Health” benefit concert to be held Sat. June 3 from 7 to 11 pm at the Murrayville Hall, 2166748 Ave. Langley.  Tickets are $25 each and 100% of proceeds go to CMHA.   There are 2 auctions, 50/50 raffle and food and drinks are available.  Please come if you can for this very important cause.  Tickets are selling fast. Joyce Trygg is pleased that 2 of her paintings , Polar Ice and Sandhill Crane, will be shown at AFC’s juried show in Qingdao Lan Wan Art Park, Qingdao, China in August and September.

Patrica Peters and Bev Biddulph, FVFCA members, along with fellow artist, Cathy Stewart, have a group show in the Courthouse Art Gallery in Merritt from May 6 to June 3.  The show, entitled, “The Poetic Language of Landscape”, was well received by the local arts community.
