Students will need:
- A free standing easel [no table easels because of space] .
- One palette [the largest paper tear -off palettes are good] and plenty of paper towels,
- Pots for medium [ODOURLESS mineral spirit, linseed oil or water if going the water soluble route]
- A selection of brushes suitable for oil painting [hogs hair or synthetics] from a good small [size 2] brush up to a large brush about an inch or so across. The more the merrier.
- At least two panels or canvases 16×20 and one larger one- 20×24 or larger.
- A stick or two of willow charcoal.
They following paints are suggested:
- Titanium White, Cad Yellow pale
- Yellow Ochre
- Cad. Red light
- Burnt Sienna
- Permanent Rose or Alizarin Crimson
- Cerulean Blue
- Ultramarine blue
- Viridian Green
- Raw Umber
- Lamp black
He also use Naples Yellow and Terra Rosa, but these are optional.
David use oil paint but if students prefer acrylics, that's fine by me.
