Artist Statement

My passions are the soft touch of graphite and the crisp line of ink. I love the way graphite brings my animals to life as they emerge on my paper. But when I work in color, I look to the sharp crisp line of ink to blend with my watercolors to create my landscapes and waterscapes.

My work is very detailed so I tend to work in smaller sizes. My favorite size for ink and watercolor landscapes and seascapes is Miniature, 3inches by 4 inches.  This is a very up close and intimate type of art that really appeals to me. My animal pieces are quite different; they are usually much larger and serve as balanced from the smaller more meticulous work.
