Andrew Loomis :: His Drawing Books for Download

Posted on December 29, 2011

Andrew Loomis (full Wiki profile) was an American illustrator back in the early 20th century when everything was drawn and painted by hand. During his life he wrote and published six books on drawing that are very difficult to find now a days. I am sure many have been tossed out over the years as people do their spring cleaning, move, or pass away. There are a few to be found here and there, some with good pricing and others that are just out to gouge the buyer.

However, there is an easy way to get all six of his books for free due to the books now being in the public domain.

I have put the direct link below for each book for easy download and viewing. They are large PDF files so it would be best to right click the link and select either "Save Target As…" or "Save Link As…" to download them directly.

Paints’n Bloom Was a Real Success for the Alzheimer’s Society

Audrey Bakewell and Wendy Mould have just finished their Christmas Show at West Coast Gardens in South Surrey and as you can see from the pictures it was a beautiful sight.

Art was set amongst their beautiful poinsettias and one couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to show art work. Being in a greenhouse during the Christmas season is a wonderful place to feel that Christmas glow, no matter the weather.

Wrapping up 2011

Article by Marney-Rose Edge

The year is drawing to a close and Christmas will be upon us very soon. Shows and classes are winding down but the work goes on. 2011 has proven to be an exciting year. Highlights include being chosen as a Finalist in the International Artist magazine for the 2nd time, (the April/May issue), achieving Signature Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists, chosen for a solo show at the Nyree Hazelton Gallery, organizing an Art show and bringing together 16 artists at Fields and Flower Farm for a stunning summer day in July. I think it was the best weather we had this summer and an exciting show.

Participating in the New Westminster Cultural Crawl was a wonderful  experience this year being my 2nd time.  It exposes the community to art and local artists, bringing people together making new friends and discoveries.nOur lives are enriched when filled with art.

Another milestone has been the move into a studio to have dedicated time to paint which adds a new section to the newsletter called "What's on the Easel."
