The Fraser Valley Artists Group is have an annual art supply garage sale on March12, 2011.
As artists we often have more items than we can use or buy items to try once and decide it is not for us. We need to sell the items and you get fantastic items for great prices.

Artist Call – City Hall Atrium Project

Expressions of Interest – City Hall Atrium Project
Public Art, City of Surrey, BC Canada
Budget: $500,000
Deadline for applications: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 4:00 pm
The City of Surrey Public Art Program is seeking Expressions of Interest for public art work in the Atrium of the new Surrey City Hall, for completion in 2013.
The art work will be highly visible within the Atrium, the main entrance and lobby of New City Hall. Inspired by the theme of "Democracy" the artwork will anticipate Surrey's diverse community and the various use of this facility. The artwork may be suspended from, attach to, or be integrated into the interior structure of the Atrium. It will be compatible with various uses of the floor space for concerts, announcements and large public gatherings.
Submissions received will be reviewed and three artists or artist teams short-list to prepare detailed design proposals.
The selected proposal will work with a project budget of $500,000, inclusive of all costs including artist fees, design, materials, insurance, all engineering expenses, fabrication, delivery, installation, travel and taxes.
This Call is open to all professional artists and artist teams, regionally, nationally and internationally.
An information meeting for interested artists will be held Tuesday, February 22nd, 7-9pm at the Surrey Arts Centre (13750-88th Avenue Surrey V3W 3L1).

Brenda Hill won an Honourable Mention at the Peggy Staber show in Mission for her graphite drawing, A Handful.
Marney-Rose Edge is involved in the launch of a newly formed group, The New West Artists. A launch show called "Under $100" is taking place Feb 11-13, 2011 at 810 Quayside Drive New Westminster. (2nd floor River market at the new Westminster Quay.) Open Fri and Sat 9-8pm and Sun 9:30-6pm.
